Peak Calving — The Year's Densest Predator Action

February is calving season's peak: roughly 500,000 wildebeest calves are born in the southern Serengeti within a few weeks, drawing lion, cheetah, and hyena in numbers unmatched at any other point in the year. It's arguably the single best predator-viewing month in East Africa.
