Frequently Asked Questions

Is 3 days enough for Amboseli?

+

Yes. Amboseli is compact and close to Nairobi, so three days gives you a full afternoon drive on arrival plus two complete game-viewing days β€” enough time for excellent elephant sightings and, weather permitting, clear views of Kilimanjaro. It's one of the few Kenyan parks where three days doesn't feel rushed.

Amboseli or Masai Mara for a first, short safari?

+

For two to three days, Amboseli usually wins β€” it's a shorter drive from Nairobi, the park is easy to navigate, and you're virtually guaranteed close elephant sightings. The Masai Mara rewards a longer stay (three to four nights minimum), since more of your time there goes into covering ground for big cats. If you can only spare a long weekend, start here.

Will I actually see Mount Kilimanjaro?

+

Most likely, yes β€” early morning and early evening are your best windows, since the peak is often clear at sunrise before clouds build through the day. We schedule your game drives around this, but no operator can guarantee weather, so treat a clear Kilimanjaro sighting as a highlight rather than a certainty.

Can this be combined with other parks?

+

Yes β€” Amboseli pairs naturally with Tsavo on our 5-day Amboseli & Tsavo itinerary, or with the Masai Mara and Samburu on our 7-day flying safari, if you have more time.
