    Depart Nairobi at 07:30. Scenic drive south across the Athi-Kapiti plains past the edge of Nairobi National Park. Arrive Amboseli by midday. Check into your luxury lodge or tented camp — most properties have stunning Kilimanjaro views from your tent. Lunch overlooking the plains. 15:30 afternoon game drive: elephant herds moving to the Enkongo Narok swamp, Kilimanjaro behind them. Sundowner at Observation Hill. Dinner.

    Full Day Amboseli Wildlife Safari

    05:45 wake-up. 06:00 sunrise game drive — Kilimanjaro turns from grey to white to gold as the sun rises. Lion prides still active from the night; hyenas returning to their dens. Return for a full lodge breakfast at 09:30. 10:30 optional guided bush walk with an armed ranger. 15:30 afternoon game drive: cheetahs on the open plains, cape buffalo herds, Amboseli's remarkable birdlife. Dinner at the lodge.

    06:00 optional sunrise game drive (recommended). Breakfast and check-out by 09:30. 10:00 Maasai village visit: guided tour of the manyatta, warrior dances, traditional beadwork demonstration, and the opportunity to purchase handcrafted jewellery directly from Maasai artisans at fair prices. Depart for Nairobi at 11:30, arriving mid-afternoon. Drop-off at JKIA or hotel.
